As Claire has traveled the state in the final days of this
campaign, we have continually been surprised by the turnout of supporters at
her events. From St. Joseph to Joplin
to Columbia to St. Louis,
Missourians are responding to Claire's call for change in Washington.
Despite Jim Talent's desperate smears, Missouri voters want a Senator who will
fight for them, an independent Senator who will be on their side and not on the
side of special interests like Big Oil and the drug companies.
But the strong turnout we're seeing on the road won't matter
at all if we can't turn out the vote on Election Day. We need the help of every
available volunteer between now and 7 pm on Tuesday, when the polls close.
Please click here to volunteer or click here for a list of the regional
offices across the state.
With your help now, we can change America on Tuesday.
Claire Hit a Home Run this morning on FoxNews Sunday
bobinkc— 10:15 AM Nov 05, 2006
Claire was superb in her interview with Chris Wallace this morning on FoxNews Sunday. Chris did his best to trip her up, starting with the big, not coincidentally timed death sentence of Saddam Hussein. Paraphrasing Wallace: "Doesn't the sentencing of Saddam vindicate the US Iraq policy?"
Claire's response, that as a former prosecutor she supports the death penalty, defused the Wallace bomb. She went on from there to discuss the issues in a clear, calm and adult manner, beautifully juxtaposed against Wallace's combatitive, childlike, "but your opponent says this about you and that about you."
Claire has hit her stride and deserves our vote on Tuesday.
The Times Will Be Changing

What's happening in Congress right now and in Missouri in particular reminds me of the Bob Dylan protest song, "The Times They Are A Changing."
Even though it attacked Vietnam, certain lyrics are perfect for this Republican-controlled Congress. People, like myself, are disgusted, tired and want change. You bet I'll be at the polls voting for someone bold and independent enough to 'rattle some windows" and get this country back on the right track.
Jim Talent and Missouri Governor Matt Blunt have done nothing for me. I'm physically challenged and the move to slash Medicaid and the 'Ticket To Work' I used to stay healthy (because two part-time jobs do not equal employee medical benefits) was wrong.
With folks like Claire in Congress and a Democratic legislature and governor in Jefferson City, perhaps there is hope we can get a reasonable buy-in program.
Finally, I vote for the person, not necessarily for the party. There are good, moderate Republicans out there who deserve our support. Senator Talent is not one of them. He's running a media campaign that smells worse than a hog farm. When you run a radio ad calling your opponent "dishonest" and " a cheat", it's the strategy of someone who knows there's a good chance he won't be back in Washington.
The Cardinals gave us something to feel good about with their World Series win. Hopefully, Claire will give us another reason to celebrate, not just on election night, but for years to come in Congress.
Robo calling
bobinkc— 11:19 PM Nov 04, 2006
My Kansas City household received two robo calls at 5 p.m. today (Saturday, 11/4) from Common Sense Ohio. I just wanted to make sure Claire's campaign was aware of this. Much of the call was innocuous - who do you plan to vote for, do you support Amendment 2. The kicker question: "Do you support the trafficking of human clones and embryos."
This is an FYI. You need to know in the event you care to respond. Read Josh Marshall's Talkingpointsmemo.com blog for more details about Common Sense Ohio and these robo calls.
Thanks and good luck. My household has three Claire voters.
