Fighting For Our Families
One of the hardest parts of working on this campaign is the separation from my family. This past weekend, my wife and kids came to visit me here in St. Louis. While I enjoyed the visit and the chance to spend time with my girls, their visit reminded me how critical this race is for our families.
Right now, due to Republican mismanagement in Washington, my daughters, Cora and Celia, and others in their generation must bear the burden of our $9 trillion debt. That evens out to be about $30,000 on the shoulders of each of my daughters for their share of that astronomical number.

An Unusual Announcement
I have been involved in Missouri statewide campaigns since 1992 and I have never seen anything like Senator Talent’s announcement for reelection in that time. Usually, since the media gives you a free pass to say whatever you like, candidates, especially incumbents focus mainly on their accomplishments and their vision for the future.

Here's To The Start Of Summer...
OK. Mom asked me to blog on her site this weekend, so here goes. It is a busy weekend around here. My brother Austin graduates from Kirkwood High tonight. We all have to be at Queeny Park for the ceremony at 5. My grandmother (MiMi) keeps saying that we need to leave at 4 so we can get a good parking space, but it doesn't even start until 6. Knowing our family, we'll be lucky to get there by 5:30.

Jim Talent Actually Thinks Washington 'Gets It'?
Tomorrow, Jim Talent will launch his announcement tour, which he says will highlight his effectiveness at changing Washington for Missouri. Unfortunately for Senator Talent, his voting record shows that Washington has changed him much more than he has ever changed Washington.

It's Time For Real Immigration Reform
Yesterday’s immigration bill was another example of what’s wrong in Washington. Playing election-year politics has a higher priority than the security of our nation and that’s just plain wrong.
